Day Number 1

It has been a great day today. I have been so proud of our students.  They have really jumped right in and worked hard today.  We started the day at a community that had been devistated by Katrina.  There were about one third the residents that have moved back to New Orleans.  We walked around and talked with a few people that we came in contact with.  We also hung door hangers on doors inviting them to church.  It was a good opportunity for our students to see real life situations.

After Lunch we headed for a nursing home.  I will tell you one thing it was so awesome to watch how our students interacted with the residents there.  We played some thrilling games of bingo.  They all want to go back again this week.  I am going to try and plan it out so we can.  Tomorrow we are going to go help a church with some of their children’s programs.  Continue to pray for us as we are serving here in new Orleans.  Feel free to leave comments and I will let the students know what you write.
